Description: In this webinar, the project team will introduce the key components of the Guides and resources and how to use them in enhancing international student experiences.
Deakin University, funded by the Australian Government under the International Education Innovation Fund, has developed a series of six Guides, a Framework, a Virtual Map providing directory to support services for international students, and videos of good practice stories to support international student engagement. The Guides and resources focus on key aspects to support international student engagement and promote good practice across the sector. These aspects include mental health and wellbeing, teaching, language and learning, intercultural and community engagement, accommodation, crisis navigation, and work integrated learning and employability.
The ultimate goal is to enhance international student engagement across these key areas that will lead to a positive student experience. The Guides provide education providers across the sector and related stakeholders with principles, practical guidance and good practice examples to inform the design and delivery of their international student engagement activities, services and programs.

Deakin University, funded by the Australian Government under the International Education Innovation Fund, has developed a series of six Guides, a Framework, a Virtual Map providing directory to support services for international students, and videos of good practice stories to support international student engagement.
One of the important Guides in this series is the Guide for enhancing international students’ mental health and wellbeing. This guide is designed to assist practitioners and staff who teach, work with and support international students across all education sectors, professional organisations, government and non-government organisations and local communities.
In this webinar co-hosted by English Australia and Deakin University, the project team will introduce the key content of this Guide and how to use the Guide in enhancing international students’ mental health and wellbeing. The webinar will discuss the following principles, complemented by practical strategies and good practice examples:
